Academic Programs

The instability, trauma, and chaos of some children's lives, coupled with learning or other disabilities, often result in substantial educational deficiencies and problems. Success in academics helps difficult to reach adolescents build thinking abilities, self-esteem, and inner motivation. Traditional techniques and settings often fail these kids, leading to high drop-out and failure rates.
     Over the years, Northeast Center has become expert in educating children and adolescents with complex emotional needs. Academics have always been fundamental and fully integrated into Northeast Center's system. Unlike many other service providers, we can directly provide high quality and individualized educational services to our kids, or when appropriate, arrange for other schools to provide educational services.
     Because students attending our schools are often in our residential or foster care programs, each child's treatment plan and educational plan are monitored closely by a complete team of Northeast Center professionals. Students are referred to us by state agencies, school districts, and private parties.
